Inthe recent past, technology has experienced tremendous changes, whichhave not only affected its manipulation among individuals but alsoamong the businesses. The accessibility of the technologicalequipment has also advanced. Therefore, businesses need to do allthey can to keep current with these changes as well as make suretheir employees are updated too. Business analytics is theapplication of practice skills and technical skills towardscontinuous iterative and methodological investigation of businessstatistical data. Business firms have made use of technological toolslike spreadsheets and computers in their analytics (Teich, 2008). When the data collected is used to lay down policies and makecritical decisions it is referred to as data based decision-makingprocess. Many questions are bound to arise in the data baseddecision-making process. Questions touching on the availability ofthe data, the accuracy of the data, the analysis of the data, and theusage of the data form components of the data based decision-makingprocess. In this assignment, I am going to look at the components oftechnology and how they help address the aforementioned questionswhen implemented.

Technologicalcomponents

Oneof the components of technology, in business firms, is the use ofcomputers. Computers have become a widespread phenomenon in thefields of human activities. Computers have been found to offer greatsupport, ranging from abstraction and establishment of indices tocreation of databases (Rhodes, 2014). Computers have proven toprocess and store information from a centralized location. The memoryability of computers is in their effectiveness and efficiency.Computers offer great computational skills. The various applicationsthat come along with the computers, which are of the advancedtechnologies, are the fundamentals of efficient processing of dataand texts. They manipulate raw data into precise and accurate data ina very short span of time not only in the business analytics field,but also in the other fields. Computer categories vary from themicrocomputers, processors, laptops to desktops. In the data-baseddecision-making process, the use of computers is very crucial first,the computers come in handy in the process of making informationavailable. For any data based decision-making process availability ofdata is very crucial. Computers have been harnessed by many businessentities as advanced libraries. Collected statistical data is savedinto the computer databases (Teich, 2008). The information can bemade available free from any form of distortion when needed. In thesame area, computers can be used to analyze the informationcollected. This is possible through computer applications that can beused to manipulate data into precise and meaningful information.

Anothertechnological component is the communication technology. Latesttechnologies like telephones, mobile phones, and accessibility to theinternet have come up to complement the existing media. The changesin the communication technology have stirred revolution in thepractice of library and the systems of information. Certain conceptslike the digitalized libraries have shifted the attention from thetraditional culture of borrowing books or setting up a physicallibrary. Adoption of communication technology, in the businessanalytics more so in the data-based decision making process has a lotof positive impacts (Teich, 2008). For instance, communicationtechnology saves time certain risks of inaccuracy are avoided thustime is saved. They are also fast in transmission. Communicationtechnology also saves the company the cost it could have incurred onlabor with the technology, only a small number of workers are neededto maintain and install the communication tools. It also reducesmonotony within the workplace. Normal structured routines within theworkplace may result into fatigue or sometimes boredom within theworkstation. Communication tools like radios and television tend tobring under control such conditions, which are replicated on gooddecision making and also quality work. Communication technologieshave also made it easier to make decisions since data is readilyavailable. Data is also accurate since enough data is collected usingvaried media. The automation process, coupled with systematicsystems, also, enhances the accuracy and the manipulation of theinformation.

Technologicaltraining is also another component that needs to be addressed withinthe business analytic entity (Mumford, 2010). As per theintroduction, technological advancement comes along with a lot ofchallenges. Therefore, the business entity should come up withstructures that will enable the staff members to manipulate thetechnological tools. Business managers should convene trainingsessions for the staff members. Awareness should be created among theemployees to familiarize themselves with the changes in the operatingsystems. The business can also come up with modules and curriculumfor workers to enroll. Mentorship is also necessary if the practiceis to be sustained. Training of employees comes along with long termadvantages to the business firm. First, the quality of servicesrendered increases due to the ease of the workers to manipulate thetools. The decision-making process is also enhanced as the datacollected has no errors since the workers are competent.

Conclusion

Inconclusion, the business analytic department should put up equipmentlike computers and communication technology devices for it to cope upwith the technological changes. Training of the employees on theirapplication is also necessary if quality data based decision-makingprocess has to be achieved.
